When you log off to wait for patching, make sure that:
-You’re in a good channel that you expect not to be mobbed.
-You have a decent amount of stamina.
-You fulfill the requirements of the seal in front of you (lightning wand/book).
-You have minimize character option enabled or xml/pmg mods that make people invisible using datapacker instead of something that can fail like dlls or data folder loaders that will get caught by an updated client.
Part 2. What to do before the patch
1. Download Apache and install if you haven’t.
2. Have these directories open:
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
C:\Program Files (x86)\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs (where you installed Apache)
3. In this folder, C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc open the hosts file with notepad/++ and add this line: “127.0.0.1 mabipatchinfo.nexon.net”. Save it as something that isn’t “hosts”. We will use this file later.
4. Save this text file to C:\Program Files (x86)\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs\ I’m not particularly sure how Apache works but you might have to create a “patch” folder and place the text file into it but it’s highly unlikely. Do both if you’re unsure.
Part 3. Make sure prepatch works before Mabinogi goes down for patching
1. Edit the text file to “patch_accept=0″ on the first line.
2. Rename your edited hosts file to replace the original hosts.
3. Launch Apache.
4. Head to your browser and in the address line type in “localhost” and make sure it says “It works!”
5. Go to the patch page once again. It should be your edited file that you placed in the htdocs folder. If not, the browser isn’t refreshing and loading a cached file instead. Try with multiple browsers to see if there are different results.
6. Launch Mabinogi. It should say that the game is in maintenance. Good job. You’ve cleared the test for prepatching.
7. To launch Mabinogi again, you’ll need to either rename the patch.txt file or change the first line back in the text file.
Part 4. Prepatching once Nexon uploads the patch files
1. Revert all files to the original state before testing for prepatch.
2. Check if the patch is up. Constantly. Do this when it’s around an hour or less if you want to be safe before the game actually goes up. The thing to look for is if the numbers are different. You can also check Nexon’s upload progress. Be careful if you patch too early as Nexon can (and will) upload revisions. If this happens you’ll have to rollback to the previous client version (hold onto a backup of version.dat) and delete the new pack file that is outdated in the package folder.
3. Once everything has been uploaded, save the new patch.txt to htdocs and edit to “patch_accept=1″ on the first line. Edit the main_version=x line to whichever patch number is next. Rename the renamed hosts file again.
4. Launch Mabi to patch up.
5. At this point you can use datapacker to make other people invisible. I don’t have the pmgs or xmls to do this so look elsewhere.
6. Spend a long time in the login screen spamming loginloginloginloginlogin
Part 5. Hitting the sealstone
1. Hopefully you logged in at the speed of light and your character is already there, ready and primed to start clicking.
2. Hit that rock. If you don’t see it, channel change until you do. Unlike most things the register per hit, the stone is server-side with a counter of ~75 to break. It was observed that hitting too fast will lead to unregistered hits. The general rule is this: once you see text on your screen, hit again. (Suou said that it took exactly 21 hits to break.)
3. Break that rock.
To those of foreign servers, change all URLs to respective patch locations.
This will be my final public writing about Mabinogi and my final farewell to this game.

I want to say thank you for posting this guide. I wasn’t able to get the seal stone title, but I found this very informative, esp on how patching & logging in to mabi works.
